MaMaMA..MAX HEADROOM
Putting the floor beams in place became a challenge when we couldn't put the scaffold in the same place as we had built the stairs. So Royce had to improvise . . . he devised MAX HEADROOM. He nailed a thick board to the top of the stair posts and braced them with some scrap boards we had laying around. Then he used MAX as one end of the scaffolding. As you can see it worked fine, that is until it was time to carry the beams upstairs. Then you have to duck, because MAX HEADROOM is only 4' 5" and Royce is over a foot taller than MAX.
I put the brackets on the beams, then Royce would carry them upstairs and we would bolt them in place.
He made it this time, and a few more times after that, but yeah you guessed it...I went in the house to get us some iced tea and WHAM! The next trip upstairs he saw stars. So he had a little iced tea with his Tylenol.
Despite headache and all . . one more structural beam goes into place before it's time to quit for the day.
