Waterproofing the Treehouse Walls

Today we started putting up felt on the outside treehouse walls. This helps keep moisture from seeping inside.

I measured the length and Royce cut the felt pieces so I could nail them in place

Each window had to be removed so the felt could go under the window's metal overlap and then replaced. The felt looked neatly tucked into place when we finished.

It took me all day to get completely around the bottom of the treehouse. While I was nailing the felt on the walls, Royce was busy working on cutting a hole in the south side of the the upper level for our air conditioner.

He cut a hole to high up the first time so he had to lower the air conditioner down about 4 or 5 inches. Then he framed around the unit with two by fours to secure it into place. I finished the felt about the same time he finished the installation.

The top half of the treehouse still needs to have felt nailed around it but it's getting late so that will have to wait until next weekend.
