Reaching New Heights

Did I mention that our treehouse will be 15 feet high? Our family and friends are asking what is a man that is afraid of heights doing building a treehouse so high? Royce and our son-in-law, Rod, built these two scaffolds to reach the height. We also attached eye bolts to the top of the poles, then rope was threaded through each one before they were erected. We will use these later to help us lift boards into place. You wouldn't guess that Royce has a fear of heights by looking at this picture. Taylor, our granddaughter, kept telling him "Face your fear, Papa, face your fear." At the beginning of the day Taylor also had a fear of heights. But temptation was too great and everyone seemed like they were having such fun up on the scaffolds. She had to climb up like everyone else. Her daddy, Rod, was right there making sure she didn't have any problems.

By the end of the day every time we turned around she was climbing up the scaffold all by herself. Taylor took her own advice and faced her fear.
