Ladder In the Making

Royce is working on the ladder. He has it almost finished, but he still has to level it up and put rubber feet on the bottom of it. He's working on it in the garage and just brought it over to check it out.

Seems to work fine. Now just the final touches and we will be able to get up in the loft.

Stacey came over to visit for a while before she leaves on her business trip to India. We are going to miss her so much. I'm sure she is going to have an adventure of a lifetime.

Have a safe trip Stacey. Don't keep it all business, have a lot of fun.

Knobs & Bell

Royce has been working on installing the door knob and door bell. We had to find just the right kind due to the thickness of the door. Royce dropped a screw that holds the door knob in place so he got the metal detector to try to find it.

It took a while but it all came together and they look perfect. Here's what the inside looks like.

And then here's the outside. There is also a skeleton key that opens and locks the door. The doorbell is one of those old fashion hand crank doorbells. It works great.

Celebrating Birthdays

Royce is going to be 55 years old on the 27th. Stacey is going to India for two months and will not be here for Meme's birthday. So we are celebrating Royce's 55th birthday and Meme's 77th birthday this weekend.

Stephaney, Taylor, and Rod came for the weekend from the east coast.

Taylor loves the tree house and thinks its so cool.

Cabinets

What do you think about the cabinet doors? Royce made them twice actually. The first ones were made from wood that was supposed to be flat. But it turned out that the wood had a bow in it and the doors wouldn't lay flat.

So Royce bought some more wood and made them again. This time they turned out just right.

The handles are unique. If you look close you will see a King with his mouth wide open. I guess one would call him a big mouth king. LOL
