Roof Ridge Completed

Royce made the top ridge cap during the week in the evenings after work and then he nailed it in place on Sunday.

Looks really awesome and it feels good to finally get the top portion of the roof finished.

While he worked on the ridge cap, I worked on the bottom portion of the roof.

I wasn't able to get it the complete side done, so we'll start on it again next weekend.

Still have to get the other 3 sides completed also. . . and the rainy season is starting.

Cats On A Hot Roof

Well it's not a hot tin roof, but it's hot up here.

Royce is actually on the upper most roof working on the south dormer shingles.

While I'm working on the top center ridge. He gets nervious when he sees me standing or squating on the roof.

He stays sitting down most of the time up here and doesn't look over the edge much.

I can't wait until we get these shingles finished.

Creative Stabilization

We had noticed that everytime we walked across the treehouse floor it moved, ever so slightly.

So we decided that it needed stabilizing.

The best way to do this was to create a concrete base around the posts.

A little bit of digging, adding rebar . . .

hauling concrete. . .

then dumping it around the post.

Stacey added her personal creative touch . . .

Shhhhh . . Artist at work

Her initials in the concrete then on to Mom and Dad's.

What we have here is a Masterpiece

Mother's Day Surprises

Royce cooked a wonderful Mother's Day dinner. It was delicious and just perfect. We also celebrated Stacey's 30th Birthday. I got some great gifts, my Mom gave me a bouganvilla plant with cherry colored flowers.

This is my Mom & Papa Manny, my step Dad.

Stacey gave me an Icarus statuette with his winds spread. Mea made me a shirt with a silkscreen fairy which says "I prefer my world." And Stephaney gave me wind chimes and woodland tree decor for our family treehouse. These were some of my Mother's Day surprises.

These are just perfect for decorating the trees surrounding the treehouse.

Butterflies. . .

Dragonflies. . .

And more butterflies . . .

With flowered windchimes. You can't see them but this windchime has crystals handing from it also. Sounds peaceful when a gentle breeze blows. I have an awesome family.
